                This is the annual business meeting of the Board.

·         Fall 2010 Exam

                The Board will review and approve the calendar at the August Board meeting.  Notice will be posted on the website of the date and location of the exam as soon as it is approved by the Board.

·         ADVERTISING GUIDELINES REVISED, EFFECTIVE 3/1/2010
A notice was sent to each licensee earlier this month explaining the changes to the guidelines.

If you are using the title “audioprosthologist” in any of your advertising, including your letterhead, you should take all necessary steps to ensure that this title is removed from your advertising before March 1, 2010.

·         Change in Board Leadership
Johnnie Sexton stepped down as President of the Board.  The Board elected Joni Alberg to serve as President of the Board.

·          NEW BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Steven Dennis has been appointed to the Board to serve as the physician member.

 

·         21 NCAC 22L .0101.  Amended, effective February 1, 2010.
 Approved by Rules Review Commission.

·         BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW APPLICATIONS (Effective July 1, 2009)
As part of the application process, the Board now requires that a background check be completed through CertifiedBackground.com, and the password for results be submitted to the Board office.  CLICK HERE

·         APPRENTICESHIP REQUIREMENTS AFTER FAILING THE LICENSING EXAM
The Board has revised the internal policies that affect apprenticeships.  If your apprenticeship was renewed after failing the exam, please review these policies to be sure you are in compliance prior to applying for licensure and registering for the next exam.  CLICK HERE

·         MAILING ADDRESS

Please note that in order to avoid delays all mail should be sent to the current mailing address, as posted in the section “Contact Us” on this website.  Please also inform the accounting department in your office of this change, as they may have the old address stored to auto-fill in checks. 

·         CONTINUING EDUCATION POLICY UPDATED

Report of Attendance forms should be submitted within 45 days of completing a continuing education event.

Program Approval Applications can now be submitted electronically.  See Continuing Education section.

·         BOARD MINUTES
The Board office is in the process of preparing minutes from past Board meetings to be posted in “pdf” format on the internet.  Check back to this update page.


·         Committee on Investigations:  NEW FORMS available
Complaint/Inquiry Form:  to be used to submit a Complaint for consideration by the Committee.

Designation of Respondent:  allows a licensee to authorize someone else to provide a response to the Committee on his/her behalf if a letter is received regarding an advertising violation or other misconduct.  PLEASE NOTE:  Pursuant to 21 NCAC 22L .0101(b) a response from the accused party shall be filed within 20 days of receipt of the notification of charges.  The Designation of Respondent form may be submitted when one licensee is responding on behalf of others, in lieu of having all individuals sign the written response.  The Committee expects a written response or the submission of the Designation of Respondent form from each licensee who receives a letter alleging misconduct.

A new database of address information is now available.
