About the Board

The Board is established to protect the hearing impaired public of North Carolina by registering, licensing, and regulating those who fit and sell hearing aids. The Board regulates Apprentices, Licensees, and Registered Sponsors according to Chapter 93D of the North Carolina General Statutes and the associated
NC Rules and Regulations. Non-physicians who wish to sell or fit hearing aids in North Carolina must be licensed by the Board through a qualifying examination.
